The Shpiel & Shpring behind Shpiel & Shpring

Hi, I'm Breindy Eiger — so glad you're here!

For the past 15 years, working with young children has been my whole world, and Shpiel & Shpring is really the story of everything those years taught me, all rolled into one program.

I started out as a kindergarten teacher, and that's really where it all began — watching how much a child lights up the moment music and movement enter the room. A lesson that might otherwise go in one ear and out the other suddenly sticks, because the child isn't just hearing it, they're living it with their whole body.

From there, I spent five years running a preschool day camp, where that same idea just kept proving itself, summer after summer. Big groups of energetic little ones, and the moments that always worked best were the ones built around a song, a dance, a game they could move through together.

Most recently, I served as preschool principal at Mesoras Miriam. It was there, watching classroom after classroom, that I noticed something clearly: teachers wanted a fun, musical way to bring each month of the year to life for their students — something that made Rosh Chodesh feel like an event, not just a date on the calendar — but a ready-made tool for exactly that didn't really exist.

So I set out to build it myself. Shpiel & Shpring is my answer to that need: a full year of original music and movement, mapped month by month, so that every teacher — not just the ones who happen to be musical or "crafty" — can bring that same spark into their own classroom, all year long.
